Interactive workshop with the Hub Zurich. A case study is performed with their fellowship winner, Urban Farmers, where students were asked to help formulate a fundraising strategy for the organization, pitch the strategy, and present further information.

Social entrepreneur, Veronica Colondam, CEO and Founder of YCAB in Jakarta. She's the Fellow of Asia Society 21 Young Leaders (2007) and awarded Global Social Innovator in 2008, along side with other world-class philantropists such as actor Jet Li and Rob Walton of Walmart. Appointed as Fellow of Young Global Leader (YGL, 2006) by the World Economic Forum, she was privileged of attending a special leadership program designed by the World Economic Forum and Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).

 

Veronica served as a Social Entrepreneur in Residence for the day andgave a presentation on her work.

Master Class with Professor Loic Sadoulet.

Professor Loic Sadoulet gives a master class on how corporations manage social innovations despite/within their normal R&D processes to address societal needs. He will discuss specific cases on which he has worked in this domain including: the development of M-Pesa by Vodafone, GE’s entry into Africa, and Johnson & Johnson’s “deep blue ocean” approach to TB in Tanzania. The session will cover questions such as: What challenges do corporations face in moving from product and services to finding solutions for unmet needs? What motivates corporations to take this step? What are some lessons learned?
